The Order of Ave Maria

Praying the Rosary

Hold the cross in the right hand, drape the rest of the Rosary across the left hand and say the Act of Faith.
 

We believe that God is Love, and Power, and Truth and Light; that perfect justice rules the world; and all His sons shall one day reach His feet, however far they stray. We hold the Fatherhood of God, the Brotherhood of man; we know that we do serve Him best when best we serve our brother man. So shall His blessing rest on us + and peace for evermore. Amen. 

 

On the first bead after the Cross, say the PATERNOSTER. 

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses. As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

On the next three beads say the AVE MARIA whole meditating on Faith, Hope and Love.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary pray for us now and at the hour of our salvation. Amen.

After the third AVE MARIA hold the chain and say the GLORIA PATRI

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Then name the Ray Mystery upon which you are to meditate.  While meditating on the Ray Mystery, say the PATERNOSTER, then on the ten beads the AVE MARIA, after the tenth bead the GLORIA PATRI on the chain, move clockwise around the Ray Rosary,  left to right. Proceed to the next Ray Mystery, say the PATERNOSTER on the bead in the wide space on the chain and ten AVE MARIAS on the ten beads that are close together, ending with the GLORIA PATRI on the chain after the tenth bead. Continue until the set of seven Ray Mysteries has been completed.

Then say the SALVE REGINA

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Love! Our life, our sweetness, our Holy Lady Mary! To thee do we sing, to thee do we lift up our hearts. Turn then, most gracious Mother, thine eyes of compassion toward us; and lead us unto the blessed Fruit of  thy womb Jesus; O Clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.  Amen.
